Barry Bonds Avoids Jail Time, Gets Probation

Facing the possibility of time in jail, former San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds was sentenced on Friday to two years probation, 30 days of home confinement and 250 hours of community service over his obstruction of justice conviction in April.

Federal prosecutors have dropped three perjury counts against Barry Bonds.

The jury has spoken and the verdict is in: Barry Bonds is guilty – and not of being a douchebag who took steroids which allowed him to garner accolades he didn’t deserve – no, he was found guilty of “Obstruction Of Justice”. For the other three counts of perjury he was being tried for – a mistrial was declared.

After five hours of  questions, a group of eight women and four men have been selected to serve on the jury for the perjury trial of former San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds.
