Superbowl Sobriety Checks
The SFPD has issued a warning that they will be conducting a “Pre-Super Bowl Sobriety Checkpoint” on Saturday, February 5. The checkpoint will be located at Geary Blvd. and Steiner St. and will run from 8:30pm – 1am. The police holding the sobriety check the night before the big game in an effort to catch early revelers and discourage any drinking and driving during the weekend.

SF Appeal reports that the SFPD will be holding a sobriety checkpoint in Potrero Hill (at Potrero Avenue and 23rd Street) on Saturday, January 22nd from 8:30am going on till the wee hours of the night. Why they are announcing the DUI checkout days ahead of time is anyone’s guess. Now all the reckless drunkards will know to avoid Potrero as they’re slamming home Four Lokos.
San Francisco Sit-Lie Ordinance Goes Into Effect
San Francisco’s new sit-lie ordinance went into effect on Friday, but police officials said it will not be enforced until February, when officers have been properly trained on it.
