Art In Storefronts on Market Street

There’s a lot of art going up recently on Market Street between 6th and 7th. Next to the UN Plaza, I spotted a new installation by artist Karen Cusolito called Valiant Flowers and murals by Paz de la Calzada, Rafael Landea, and Robert Harris at 1127, 1020, and 998 Market St., respectively. These projects are part of an effort to revitalize Market Street headed by the San Francisco Arts Commission. Kick-off opening event for the Central Market Art In Storefronts is Friday, May 13 from 5-7pm at 998 Market Street. Artists’ works will be on display from May 13-August 13, 2011.
