If you’re planning your evening commute, head’s up – there’s a BART protest (in response to the July 3 fatal BART police shooting of Charles Hill) scheduled for tonight inside the Civic Center BART station that may disrupt service and cause delays.
Mehserle to be Released from Jail
BART police officer Johannes Mehserle, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for fatally shooting Oscar Grant, is slated to be released from jail in Los Angeles on Monday, June 13th. Let the rioting begin.
BART Approves Tasers for Officers
BART’s board of directors has unanimously approved a plan to purchase 130 more Tasers to allow all of its officers to have their own stun guns.
