The 10 Douchiest Colleges In America
This week GQ posted their picks for the Douchiest Colleges in America, but I found this revised version a little more on the mark.
The 40 Worst-Dressed Cities in America
GQ just posted a tongue-in-cheek piece on the The 40 Worst-Dressed Cities in America and, of course, they totally slammed SF-style. What? Are our hipsters and our hoodlums dressed in over-sized Giants gear not good enough for you?
Top 20 Most Miserable Cities
Forbes just put out its America’s Most Miserable Cities list. What exactly makes a city miserable? Is it a depressed economy and housing market, high rates of violent crime, and rampant unemployment? Yes – to all of the above. And, guess what, the Golden State has eight of the twenty most miserable cities in the entire country.
San Francisco = The 3rd Drunkest City in America
Think about that as you are busily chugging down a bottle of bubbly for NYE. The Daily Beast put together a slide show of the 40 most alcohol-fueled cities in the States. Milwaukee, WI was #1 while Fargo, ND came in at #2. And while SF got the bronze, we clearly beat the leaders in “Percent of adults who are heavy drinkers” (8.2) and “Deaths per 100,000 residents from alcoholic liver disease” (6.9). Hm, perhaps another item to add to that NYE resolution list?
Gadgets of the Year
I know, I know yet another end of year list post. But, worry not, it will soon be 2011 and you won’t have to read another “Best of” piece for another 12 months or so. Until then, however…Wired’s Gadget Lab Staff has posted their picks for the The 10 Most Significant Gadgets of 2010, which is kind of like People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive but for techies.
Best (and Worst) Films of 2010
SF Station’s critics weigh in on the best and worst films of 2010. The top contenders are all the buzz movies you’ve been hearing about – Black Swan, The Social Network, Blue Valentine – but there are also some not so talked about films like Winter’s Bone, Art of the Steal and The Pat Tillman Story. And then there are the doozies – Grown Ups, Leap Year (seriously, one of the worst movies ever made) and Sex and the City 2. Do you agree?
