SoMA nightclub Club Six hosts a fun, free and interactive happy hour that is unlike any other in San Francisco—or anywhere else, really. Dubbed So You Think You Can Paint?, every Thursday night the club opens its doors and offers canvas, paint and brushes to the public.

Event: San FraNOLA
New Orleans arrives in San Francisco for one special night. You’ll be able to experience all the trappings of the famous southern city including a brass band, jambalaya and down home hospitality.
Free Comic Books!
The buzz generated by the opening of Marvel’s “The Avengers” this weekend, is giving a huge boost to the world of comics. Along with passionate, already established fans, a whole slew of new fans have cropped up. Thus, the timing couldn’t have been better for Free Comic Book Day.
Event: Cal Day
While not everyone can attend UC Berkeley, this weekend you’ll be able to at least pretend you’re a student at Cal Day, the university’s annual open house. With more than 370 events, you’ll be sporting blue and gold in no time.
Event: Chronicle Books Store Opening
SF publisher Chronicle Books is opening its third store in the fancy new Metreon building. And they’re throwing a little party to celebrate. There’ll be drinks, treats and, yes, lots of books.

Free Coffee for the End of the Summer
Drink some free coffee to celebrate the last day of the summer solstice. Peet’s is offering a buy one get one free deal on any coffee or tea drink through September 25. You’ll get the deal if you print out the coupon, or show the barista the coupon on your mobile phone. There are nine Peet’s locations around San Francisco. Free music and warm weather is like doughnuts dunked in coffee. Sadly, the relationship is slowing breaking up as the summer concert season comes to an end. Stern Grove is ending its free Sunday music series with a sophisticated grand finale.
