A bill proposed by San Francisco state Senator Mark Leno that would have allowed businesses to stay open later and sell alcohol until 4:00am has failed to clear the Senate Governmental Organization Committee.

Superbowl Sobriety Checks

The SFPD has issued a warning that they will be conducting a “Pre-Super Bowl Sobriety Checkpoint” on Saturday, February 5. The checkpoint will be located at Geary Blvd. and Steiner St. and will run from 8:30pm – 1am. The police holding the sobriety check the night before the big game in an effort to catch early revelers and discourage any drinking and driving during the weekend.
