Uber Looks to Take Advantage of Cabbie Strike
As we told you last week, taxi drivers are planning to strike Tuesday afternoon at San Francisco City Hall. Although it is uncertain exactly how many cabbies will participate, most officials said it will not be a huge burden on customers as the time of the strike (noon-2pm) is usually a low-demand period.
Yellow Pages Ban
Those unwieldy bricks also known as the Yellow Pages may finally be out of our lives for good. Unless you request yours, the Board of Supervisors is one step closer to banning the delivery of unwanted phone directories. Of course, the final vote is next week and the Yellow Page industry is in full lobbying mode.

Wind-Solar Hybrid Streetlight Pilot Project Installed Today
The futuristic green blades are being attached to what looks like rather ordinary streetlights today in front of San Francisco City Hall. The lights are actually LED, according the sign and they’ll be 100% independent of the Grid. Wonder what the city would look like with thousands of these?
