PEN POP: dark stuff down by the docks: father and son jumping the gates to go bird watching; boat behind fence with wires & HUMAN; DDOCK near that crumbling, cavernous edge of the Bay; today’s fave: VIET GANG / BLOOD IN BLOOD OUT (tuff turf!) and DRIFTER; and almost fell in getting this DTH SQD / SLEEP. Gotta get outta this place! 

SF to Host America’s Cup

That has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Last Friday (you remember, NYE?) outgoing mayor Gavin Newsom secured San Francisco as the host of the 2013 America’s Cup, one of the biggest and ritziest sailing competitions in the world. It’ll be the 34th year of the race and it will bring in more than $1 billion to the local economy.
