It’s that time of year again San Francisco. Time to grab your monkey suit (not that monkey suit, an actual costume to dress like a monkey or gorilla or whatever) for the 101st running of the Bay to Breakers race.
History is in the making as we approach Bay to Breakers’ Centennial anniversary. While race organizers can’t confirm the May 15th race will be the last, financial uncertainties put the future of this annual San Francisco event up in the air: There is no title sponsor after global financial group ING declined to renew its five-year sponsorship.
Well, not exactly. According to SF Appeal, “Organizers of the annual Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco will be celebrating the event’s 100th anniversary on New Year’s Day with a special ceremonial run.” But don’t get out that caveman costume and keg float out just yet.
