Green Day Frontman Off to Rehab

Posted by Keith Mizuguchi on Sep 24, 2012 | Comments (0)

Following a performance at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas last week, which included a rant before exiting the stage, Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong is headed off to rehab.

Here is a note on the band’s official website: “Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse.  We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas.  We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances.”

Armstrong had complained that organizers were cutting their time on stage short and left by smashing his guitar.

The band was set to perform this week at The Fillmore in San Francisco, part of a promotional tour for their new record “Uno” set to hit stores this week. Check the profanity-laced video below.
