Call Me Maybe or Pay Me Maybe?

The summer pop hit of the year has been Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe”  which means it has also been the most parodied song of the summer. And now, among those parodies is a version by San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera.

After reaching a settlement in a 2007 lawsuit for customers scammed through short-term payday loans at Money Mart locations, Herrera’s office was looking to reach out to stragglers who may not have stepped forward to file a claim before the October 1 deadline.

So this summer, some of his office interns came up with a catchy music video called “Pay Me Maybe,” a parody of Jepsen’s hit. Herrera said he hopes the video attracts claimants who may be eligible for refunds of between $20-1,800.

Those looking to file a claim can call the City Attorney’s Money Mart Settlement Hotline at (866) 497-5497 or by visiting his website to complete a claim form.
