Matt Cain Throws More Than Fastballs

Posted by Keith Mizuguchi on Sep 6, 2012 | Comments (0)

San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain has already thrown a perfect game this year, the first in franchise history, but his most important “pitch” may be coming on Sunday.

The Giants ace will be hosting the Petaluma Little League team for a celebratory pizza party on Sunday, September 9 at Patxi’s Pizza in San Francisco.

The Petaluma team finished in third place in last month’s Little League World Series. Cain will be hosting team members, their families and coaches for a congratulatory slice. Previously, he had given the team a pep talk before they took the field, facing the squad from Tennessee in the U.S. Final.

A nice gesture by a pretty great pitcher.

The event is taking place at Patxi’s Pizza on Fillmore Street.
