Apple Announces SF Event Next Week; New iPad Coming?

Apple is inviting the media to an event in San Francisco on Wednesday, March 7 and the buzz is that the tech giant will be unveiling the latest version of the iPad.

An image on the invite shows part of an iPad screen, fueling growing speculation that the iPad 3 will soon be released. The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater, where Apple holds its larger launch events.

Although details for the new device remain mostly rumors, a sharper screen, faster cellular broadband options and a possible camera are all possibilities.

It’s not known when the new device would be available for sale. Around this time last year, Apple announced the iPad 2 and sales began in the U.S. a little more than a week later.
