A look at Holiday-themed events this week.

Under One Roof Holiday Premier
Thursday 6pm-9pm at Under One Roof (518A Castro)
Shop in style with free gift wrapping, complimentary champagne, wine, hors d’oveures, cookies, and a charity raffle. As always when shopping at One Roof, proceeds go to local AIDS and HIV charities.

Turkey Carving 101
Thursday, 7pm-8pm at 18 Reasons (3674 18th St)
Learn to slice that big bird elegant and expertly in this one hour class. $20, tickets required.

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party & Fundraiser
Thursday, 8pm at The Bitter End (441 Clement)
Wear an ugly X-mas sweater to compete in the contest. $5 donation for entry and a raffle ticket, $3 Anchor Steams all night. Proceeds go to The Family Link.

Embarcadero Lighting Ceremony & Winter Carnival
Friday, 4pm at Justin Herman Plaza & The Embarcadero Center
The Embarcadero Center will be ceremoniously lit for the holiday season at 6pm, followed by a grand fireworks display. Come early for the Winter Carnival, with children’s activities and appearances by Santa and Mickey Mouse. Hang around after for live performances by Disney on Ice.

Macy’s Pet Adoption Display
Friday, 5pm at Macy’s (170 o’Farrell St)
Macy’s windows will be transformed into a playground for dogs and cats from the SPCA that are ready to be adopted and taken to a loving home. Pets will be showcased until Jan 1st.

Hyatt Tree Lighting & Indoor Snow
Friday, 7pm at the Hyatt Regency (5 Embarcadero Center)
The lights will be turned on, all 30,000 that illuminate a 30ft tree and the lobby of the Hyatt. Enjoy free performances from Beach Blanked Babylon, the SF Symphony, and Zoo Station: The Complete U2 Experience. Se thee season debut of the “snow” in the lobby that comes down three times a day (1pm, 6pm &8pm) through Dec 31st.

Pier 39 Holiday Tree Lighting
Sunday 12pm-6pm at Pier 39
The 60ft tree at Pier 39 will be lit at 5:30pm. Come early for live holiday music, interactive booths, and to spend time with Disney characters and Santa.
