This Friday is Rally in the Alley, a block party to celebrate the launch of green redesign and beautification of Ames Alley in the Mission District. The party promises fabulous food, live music, art gallery exhibits, raffle prizes, and rides on a seven passenger bike.
Currently, Ames Alley is underutilized and deteriorating. The Fair Oaks Community Coalition sees the alley an opportunity. They plan to revamp Ames Alley into a public space with water-permeable paving, vertical gardens, solar lighting, and public art. A sanctuary for neighbors, gardeners, seniors, kids, and dog-walkers to stroll and play.
Come support the project at Rally in the Alley. Enjoy the fun, mingle with neighborhood folks and find out more about future plans for the alley. Buy raffle tickets or make a tax-deductible donation if you are able.
