Green Day’s Lead Singer Kicked Off Oakland Plane

Posted by Keith Mizuguchi on Sep 2, 2011 | Comments (1)

Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong tweeted that he was kicked off a Southwest Airlines plane at Oakland International Airport Thursday night for allegedly wearing his pants too low.

A KGO TV producer was on board and reports that Armstrong was on the flight scheduled to travel from Oakland to Burbank when she said “Armstrong was approached by a flight attendant and told to pull his pants up.”

Here is his exact tweet (@BJAofficial): “Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low! What the f**!? No joke!”

Southwest responded with their own tweet saying that someone would reach out to Armstrong to get more details on what happened.

This comes following an incident in June when a University of New Mexico football player was kicked off a U.S. Airways flight in San Francisco over his saggy pants.
