J-Pop Summit Pop-Culture Festival

Take a break from the ordinary this weekend and head over  to the J-Pop Summit Festival, a pop-culture themed street fair showcasing modern Japanese fashion, music, art, films, retail, and design.

Hosted by New People, this year marks the biggest festival yet. There will be plenty to do for the adventurous, and even more to see for the voyeurs. Highlights include a Vocaloid dance contest, where competitors lip-sync and dance using the singing synthesizer application, a circus inspired OTT (over the top) fashion contest hosted by Baby the Stars Shine Bright, a Miku Mix DJ Battle with DJ Amaya and ZANEEDS, and the U.S. premiere of a film about an all-female Japanese idol group, Documentary of AKB48 (ticketed event).

Food will be available from Brass*Kuckle, Chairman Bao, JapaCurry and Onigilly food trucks. Baazar Bizarre and Animation On Display will be hosting arts & crafts and anime vendors.

J-Pop is a must-attend for pop-culture junkies!
