Great Highway Closed

If you’re looking to travel down the Great Highway (and taking advantage of this amazing weather to hit the beach) then head’s up: the two southbound lanes will be closed starting today through Friday, 3pm (you know, when the weather turns cold again) for sand removal.

According to SF Appeal, “Motorists are encouraged to use Sunset Boulevard, and beach visitors should avoid the areas where the work is occurring. Pedestrians can still access Ocean Beach north of Noriega Street and south of Santiago Street.”

Today through Wednesday are probably the warmest days we’re going to get all darn summer. A perfect time to hit Ocean Beach. Can you say ‘bad timing’? Ugh.
