Bay to Breakers on New Year’s Day?

Posted by Anhoni Patel on Dec 30, 2010 | Comments (0)

Well, not exactly. According to SF Appeal, “Organizers of the annual Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco will be celebrating the event’s 100th anniversary on New Year’s Day with a special ceremonial run.” But don’t get out that caveman costume and keg float out just yet.

This year officials and the SFPD are (really this time) going to strictly enforce the ban on alcohol and things with wheels. But Saturday’s run is just a ceremonial event. It will kick off at Embarcadero and Market Street at 10am and “will also mark the opening of general registration for the Bay to Breakers 12K run, scheduled for May 15th.”
