GG Park Holiday Tree Lighting

Posted by Anhoni Patel on Dec 9, 2010 | Comments (0)

Rockefeller Center in NYC may have a 75 ft. high Norway Spruce illuminated by 30,000 environmentally friendly LED lights on five miles of wire and crowned by a Swarovski crystal star, but we have the 100 ft. Monterey cypress at McClaren Lodge in Golden Gate Park lit by…well, I’m guessing several strings of multi-colored lights found in some damp boxes left in the Lodge’s basement. Or something like that.

It may not have the pomp and circumstance of the Union Square tree lighting or the crowds of Pier 39, but GG Park’s Holiday Tree Lighting will still be special. The event will include live entertainment, caroling, activities for kids, train rides and, a visit from Santa. It would be really cool, if it was actually Santa John.

Tonight, Thursday December 9th, 5-7pm. For more details, go here.
